Hi, I’m Gina!

Welcome to the weekly Friday Finds, [FIRST NAME GOES HERE]!

Published about 2 months ago • 2 min read

Hello and welcome, Reader.

What's new with you this week? There's not much going on here except college basketball. I had hoped to do some spring cleaning, but it's cold, with snow flurries and biting winds—not really conducive to my cleaning plan. I also have taxes looming over my head, so I'm postponing the cleaning for a week. Let's see what excuses I can come up with next. LoL!

Let's start off this week with some announcements:

I'm adding another monthly challenge. Each week, the book review with the best stats (views & comments by number) will be eligible for my Review of the Month Award. So, vote for your favorite by visiting and commenting on the reviews. I'm in the process of creating a badge to award to the winner, and I will find a unique way to feature each winner. Winners will be announced around the 15th of each month. All past reviews are eligible (not just the previous week), so dig through the site for your favorite review, book, and author. Be sure to tell your friends and family to vote, too!

The trivia contest will continue as a separate entity, with the winner drawn monthly around the first, from the Friday Finds & email newsletter qualifying entries.

As always, I welcome any news you may have to share. Whether it's author announcements, a delicious recipe, or recommendations for books, crafts, patterns, sales, etc., everything is welcome. I'll do my best to include it in future issues.

This week's Friday Finds blog post shares Brunch recipes, unique crafts, Indie Author announcements, and books to add to your reading list.

Trivia

This week's trivia question is:

Cheesecake is believed to have been served at the first what?

Be sure you leave your answer in the comments to be entered in the monthly drawing. If you subscribe to this newsletter email, you get double entries.

The entry jar is filling up quite nicely!

The answer to last week's question:

Eons ago, when I was in high school, I was obsessed with Shakespeare novels. Can you remember who said, ‘All the world’s a stage’ and what book it was from?

"All the world's a stage" is the phrase that begins a monologue from William Shakespeare's pastoral comedy As You Like It, spoken by the melancholy Jaques in Act II Scene VII Line 139. The speech compares the world to a stage and life to a play and catalogs the seven stages of a man's life, sometimes referred to as the seven ages of man. via Wikipedia.

Crafts

Since the Friday Finds blog post featured a miniature greenhouse and Easter printables, here's something for all the collectors out there

Sometimes, it’s not about making something but more about using what you already have. If you don’t have a few vintage plates, you can pick them up for virtually nothing at yard sales and flea markets. Then, just use them to cover a wall. You’ll get a beautiful vintage-looking wall, and it probably won’t cost you anything.

Well, Reader, let's wrap this up and start enjoying the weekend. I'll see you over on the blog post and back in your inbox next week!

Love & Peace,

Gina

Well, this email is late getting to you. Let me explain why… I got behind this week for a very good reason. I took a day off on Wednesday to pick the grandkids up from early school dismissal. Then, we met my daughter and her grandbaby (my great-grandbaby!!) for lunch. Tom and I had such a great time. The older kids are so funny. The baby is happy and, at a year old, really getting to that fun, interactive stage. It should be fine, I thought. I would still have Thursday to finish the Friday...
