Hi, I’m Gina!

Welcome, Welcome, [FIRST NAME GOES HERE]! Your Friday Finds Newsletter is here.

Published about 1 month ago • 2 min read

Hello Reader,

I'm so happy to have you here today. I'm running a bit behind today. I figured grandkids were more important than getting this email out at a specific time.

A couple of the grandsons are here helping to tear down an old barn. I've been busy keeping those ravenous kids supplied with cookies, fruit snacks, and drinks. I'm squeezing this email in before I start dinner.

We are just having a fabulous time. I hope you enjoy your Friday Finds email this week. Please click on over to read the blog post. There's a lot of fun and exciting news in there, too.

Be sure to scroll to the email's bottom for even more announcements.

Peace, Love, Happy Easter for those who celebrate, and Happy weekend to everyone!

Gina

Tell me one author you would like me to feature in an upcoming newsletter! Naturally, I have better luck connecting with Independent Authors and Publishers than I do with the biggest names. But I'll give it a try if you send me a name.

Ham seems to be the protein of choice around these parts for Spring Holiday dinners. This recipe will use up that leftover ham as well as extra dinner rolls.

Ham & Cheese Strata

It’s a simple cheese strata, a layered dish of bread and cheese, with an egg mixture to bind it together. The addition of leftover ham adds protein and more texture to the eggs and cheese. Besides the leftover ham, this recipe can also use up some of those leftover dinner rolls, too.

Bubble Pods Sewing Pattern

These make great storage for your craft room, bedroom, or bathroom. They are a follow-up to Beth's hugely popular storage pods pattern; only these are designed to sit on a flat surface without hanging them up.

They are simple to make and require very little fabric. Two of your favorite fat quarters will make one, with some left over.

Here is this week's question for you to ponder.

This week's trivia question is:

In the craft of embroidery, what term refers to the technique of using small, tightly packed stitches to create intricate designs on fabric?

The answer to last week's question:

Cheesecake is believed to have been served at the first what? OLYMPIC GAMES!

"The earliest known cheesecake was made in ancient Greece on the island of Samos in the fifth century BC. It was made from fresh cheese patties pounded smooth with flour and honey, then baked on an earthenware griddle. Cheesecake was a source of energy and was served to athletes during the first Olympic Games in 776 BC. It was also popular as a wedding dessert." Answer from Jonathan Lord Cheesecake.

Leave a comment on the Friday Finds Blog Post with your answer to be entered into the monthly drawing. You will receive double entries since you are also an email newsletter subscriber.

I'm adding another monthly challenge. Each week, the book review with the best stats (views & comments by number) will be eligible for my Review of the Month Award. So, vote for your favorite by visiting and commenting on the reviews. I'm in the process of creating a badge to award to the winner, and I'll find a unique way to feature each winner. Winners will be announced around the 15th of each month. All past reviews are eligible (not just the previous week), so dig through the site for your favorite reviews, books, and authors. Be sure to tell your friends and family to vote, too!

The trivia contest will continue as a separate entity, with the winner drawn monthly around the first, from the Friday Finds & email newsletter qualifying entries.

That's it for today's email newsletter. So tell me, Reader, what intrigues you the most about today's finds?

I'll see you back here next week for more fun!

Stay HAPPY!

Gina

Well, this email is late getting to you. Let me explain why… I got behind this week for a very good reason. I took a day off on Wednesday to pick the grandkids up from early school dismissal. Then, we met my daughter and her grandbaby (my great-grandbaby!!) for lunch. Tom and I had such a great time. The older kids are so funny. The baby is happy and, at a year old, really getting to that fun, interactive stage. It should be fine, I thought. I would still have Thursday to finish the Friday...
